[Update] Remove GQL from boiler in favor of REST

Issue summary

With the most recent news from Unite noting the decision to deprecate GQL in favor of rest I wonder if we should get ahead of the curve and remove GQL references from the template.

Good decision to deprecate GQL imo, GQL works really well as a universal translator for backend services but its relatively weak as a client service. Especially with rest developments in the last few years.

Are there any press releases or change-logs on this? No need to update this app until there is actually a deprecation timeline in sight.
