Looping in from my post on Shopify Community, but here it may be more relevant.
TLDR: The email notification experience is painful.
Motivation
Currently, it's such a painful process to develop customer notification emails. There's no proper editor for these, and the admin editor is just a basic textbox.
A direct CLI integration with live preview would make developing emails much more developer-friendly.
+1 on this.
Email notifications are one area of Shopify that needs an overhaul in terms of developer experience - there needs to be a way to interact with these locally - not just that, have a way to also integrate with Git or similar for backup purposes.
