Unable to use headphones

ChatGPT-voice-control is an extremely useful plugin, but there is a small issue. I'm using a MacBook Air with macOS 13.4. It doesn't work at all on Edge, and every time I try to use it, it prompts "Unable to access your microphone." I have confirmed that I have granted all microphone and sound permissions to Edge and the plugin, and made sure the plugin is up to date. However, the problem still persists. In Chrome, there are also some issues. When I use the MacBook's built-in microphone, the plugin works perfectly. But when I use AirPods, the plugin can't hear my voice at all. Although it doesn't show the "Unable to access your microphone" prompt like on Edge, the plugin fails to recognize any sound from me.
