opening the guide breaks the game

I was able to use the guide earlier without issues, and I haven't changed anything or screwed with the game files at all. Now, opening the guide keeps me from interacting with the game, and if I try to close it, the game usually stops responding before I can save when it asks me if I want to.

I had this problem with some maps, but not all.

Happened to me as well, I entered my house, slept, built a vanity and messed around with that, then pressed the guide button meanwhile facing a vanity, leading to nothing happening and loosing control of the game. There where three mons walking around with me in the house, but otherwise nothing else was really going on.
