Add Suffix to reports
Copied from FTA Users group from James Clements.
I really like the many reports in FTA... they are saving me days/weeks of work making my own in excel from a raw GedCom file. One thing that seems to be missing and that I use alot is the Name Suffix.... I would expect it to at least be in the "Individuals" Report but is not, there is a field name Alias ... I personally have not come across a gedcom that uses "Alias" but FTM will use GIVN, SURN, and SFXN especially important during tree/branch merges into FTM. I would really appreciate a field with the Suffix portion of the name so I can better deal with Families and handling duplicates... I don't know how FTA handles duplicates when it comes to Jr., Sr., I, II, III, IV, V and etc.
Does anyone else have a need or use for the name suffixes in an excel report ... I think the "Individuals" Report is the most logical place to add it.

I'm using v8.0.2.0 and have just downloaded the Individuals report and opened it in Excel. However all these 3 new columns are empty. I've checked the gedcom to make sure that suffixes appear there (they do) but they're not being displayed in FTA or in the downloaded reports. This is the format in the gedcom file for a suffix 1 Name William James /Ireland/ GF
Hmm the standard defines the prefix and suffix as NAME_PIECE structures that appear after a name

So typically 1 NAME William James /Ireland/ 2 NSFX GF
