Group mapping not working when using userprincipalName to login

Hi,

I've setup the component/plugins and everything works very well (including group mapping) when using the sAMAccountname to login. However when I enhance the functionality to allow login with a userprincipalName (ie. [email protected]) the user can login and the user is added to Joonla, but the groups aren't synced.

I'm not a php guru...so please advise what to do.

This works in my situation, I sync users with multiple groups based on their membership in the Windows AD.
