Group Mapping Plugin (Version 2) not assigning groups to new users

We have upgraded our website to Joomla 3 and therefore to JMapMyLDAP Version 2.

Users are being created
Test/Debug is returning the correct information from LDAP
Groups are not mapped to the user in Joomla
No errors regarding Group Mapping in Error Log, no debug regarding Group Mapping info in Debug Log

@shmaunder I use group mapping in my configuration it works perfectly. Even removing user from certain groups and adding them to other groups. So I think this one can be closer because it's not an issue anymore in the new Joomla! Versions.

Does you're Group Name contain any mutals like äöü?
