[REQUEST] Provide signed releases for firefox
Is there an existing issue for this?
- [x] I have searched the existing issues
This feature does not exist in the latest nightly version
- [x] I have checked the latest nightly version
Feature Description
Firefox does not allow installation of unsigned extensions. The latest signed release, and indeed the one provided on the website, is 2 years old now (3.0.9). The latest signed nightly is 3.0.10.
Is there a reason why this is the case?
Same too problem. It only possible to "temporarily" run the extension through debugging.
Apparently the extension is entirely removed from Firefox now? Looks like the dev just doesnt want to support it anymore?
yeah it seems to be removed from firefox
I got a message from Mozilla support and i find issue: Thanks for sharing that link. I’ve verified that the 3.1.X versions do not load in Firefox. I looked around the project’s repo and according to this comment on issue 1117, it seems that the extension has been rejected by Mozilla due to remote code execution. Unfortunately, this means that signed versions won’t be available until the developer fixes this policy violation.
The 7TV developers are not yet able to rewrite the code for their new manifesto, so on Moziila Firefox you can only use versions 3.0.X. UPD: But I still have the same problem - it doesn't allow installing old versions of 7TV on the standard version of Mozilla Firefox
P.S. In general, I just additionally downloaded the latest Nightly Version of Firefox and disabled signature verification there. The latest pre-release version of 7TV was able to install without problems. I will use it like this for now.
Really sucks that I can't make a full switch to Firefox just because of this extension. Very well... guess I'm keeping Chrome installed just for watching Twitch.
