Does not identify or locate new USB drive

Short Description of Problem:

Attempting first use of this program, burning a simple Ubuntu ISO to a new SanDisk USB drive fails; in that the program does not find the USB drive as a destination (the system finds it just fine and I'm able to perform other operations such as "dd").

This is on an up-to-date MacOS Big Sur 16" Macbook Pro.

Expected Behavior:

Locate the USB drive and correctly burn/create the bootable USB.

Actual Behavior:

Not recognizing the USB drive, yet it allows me to proceed "anyway" beyond that point with no destination selected (bug)
