Constant error while typing in the REPL

I get the following error when I launch evcxr in emacs.

Error in post-command-hook (jit-lock--antiblink-post-command): (invalid-function "Unfortunately eval is needed to make use of the dynamic value of comint-prompt-regexp")

Then, I constantly get the following error whenever I type a new character into the REPL. I'm running gnu emacs 28.2.
