Improving treatment of the maiden name
The treatment of the maiden name is not easy anyway.
However, there are some things to clarify: The persons information offer fields for "surname" and "marriage name", while the settings offer things like "maiden name" (marriage name)". This is confusing since it means that the field for "surname" equals "maiden name". I don't know if this is treated so much differently in other countries, but for me it would make more sence if the "surname" is the current name (which could be the name after marriage), while the "maiden name" should be the optional additional field. Also currently if you just display the "marriage name", all unmarried people (also children) won't have any surname, since the filed for surname is ignored.
Also it seems that this field is only available for women. But in countries like Austria it is also possible that a man can take the surname of the woman after marriage.
If a man or a woman changes some part of the name during their life (due to marriage or any other reason) - it is possible to enter any number of full names on the Names
tab of the editing dialog.
This is true, but it seems you have to move the name on top that you want to have in your list and on your family tree. Instead it might be more useful to chose for all names if you rather want to display the maiden or marriage name.
Also the name is not shown in the other field meaning the same.
