I also observed the behaviour described by @Trayshar on my device. (ResurrectionRemix 6.2.1, With Email, Calendar and Exchange system-apps from LineageOS 15.1 - i know i'm a monster.) The crashes...
A context menu would be alright as well. (Edited for clarification: I believe that should be intuitive enough; if i can long-click songs to get a context menu it wouldn't...
At least for me this only works for 5-Row layout, not for 5-Row compact layout...
