Crashing my desktop

Open Ivoz opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

I love the program, and dearly want to play with it more. So it's with great sadness I open this issue.

I opened the program and started playing with it for 5 minutes, creating OR, NOR, flip flops etc. Everything seemingly working fine <3

I had set it to 1280x720 windowed, vsync on, on a 1080p monitor. I used the download available from itch.io

At one point it just "took out" my main screen, it went completely blue. A second after that my mouse disappeared from being 'waveable' in my 2nd monitor, and the whole computer went non-responsive. Ctrl+Alt+Del didn't do anything! Fortunately, pressing shutdown initiated the computer into a normal shutdown sequence, it seems as soon as the program got closed, both screens became responsive again, got my screen back, etc, but then it was closing everything down in order to shut down :D

I haven't seen my desktop randomly crashing previously at all, which leads me to heavily suspect it was something to do with this.

I think event log shows around the same time, "Display driver amdwddmg stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

My system is Ryzen 5 3600XT, Radeon RX 6700 XT, 32gb RAM, B350 mobo. Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.2486. Let me know if you'd like any more details.

Try updating your display driver.

I had basically latest driver, but AMD just updated theirs after 6 month (for 6000 series) in February, I will test it soon.
