chartjs-chart-matrix yielding blank images

I'm trying to use the chartjs-chart-matrix plugin but I keep getting blank images. I've read through the chartjs-chart-financial discussion and tried the various suggestions there. However, I've still had no success. I opened a new issue as I don't know if it's the same issue or something else. I'm hopeful someone here might have some suggestions/experience to share.
