There's no equivalent for [client side batching](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/service-bus-messaging/service-bus-performance-improvements#client-side-batching) as of this moment. There's [another feature](https://github.com/Azure/azure-service-bus-dotnet/issues/538) that is supposed to bring batching to the client.

That's API deprecation process, correct. For v4 you'd be obsoleting with warning. For v5 obsoleting with error. Removing in v6.
