Snap package ready and working

Open soumyaDghosh opened this issue 2 years ago • 19 comments

Hi, I snapped this app also, and obviously fixed all the issues in the mousai. Would like to have both as official package? Else, would you mind if I publish this one also in the store?

@SeaDve any update?

soumyaDghosh avatar Feb 01 '24 14:02 soumyaDghosh

Won't mind as long as everything works fine and tested on that side

SeaDve avatar Feb 01 '24 14:02 SeaDve

Yes, everything is working and tested, I myself is using it for some time now. But, someone has already taken the name kooha in the store and haven't published anything. So, I'll need your help to get the name. Would you mind having snaps?

How would that work?

You'll need to create a similar post asking for the name in the forum. As you are the upstream, you'll be granted that name

Maybe if I could bless it, feel free to create a post

I know this may sound insisting.. but why not have the snap package also a official from your side? I'll help you maintain the package.

I don't use snap to personally test the app. Additionally, maintaining and testing everything on the Flatpak side is already pretty tedious, and having the snap package would simply add another responsibility.

I can do the testing on your behalf :-)

EDIT: if you don't want.. just keep it under your name... all the other things will be done by me. Also.. if any breaking changes come up... I'll try to fix it myself.. until it gets unfixable by me. And if you don't want that also, Kindly create the forum post requesting the name and then transfer it to me.

I'll give it a try, some time this week.

Too bad, someone already taken seadve as handle for snapcraft :p

Edit: Oh it was apparently me about 4 years ago

I have btw filed a dispute, not sure how it works and how long it will take.

It just asks for your credibility of being the upstream for it. Mostly resolved within a week.

I got a reply and they said that they would contact the other developer if they are willing to transfer the ownership to me.

SeaDve avatar Feb 21 '24 13:02 SeaDve

They seem to have accepted it already.

SeaDve avatar Feb 22 '24 08:02 SeaDve

Thanks for keeping me updated. I'll keep an eye on it. When you get the snap name, you can add me as a collaborator from the settings page. My email id is

Hi, I am holding this package until the next release of pipewire. Recently some snap related changes were pushed to pipewire. After a release is created, I'll send the PR on snap package and setup the rest.

Hi, kooha snap is ready. Wanna test it?
