Top-up using iDeal succeeds without credit being added
I tried topping up my account using the iDeal button (see red arrow). I assume this button only appears when visiting this page from The Netherlands, inside the same iFrame as the PayPal button (see green arrow). Payment is handled via PayPal, but without the need for a PayPal account as you pay (in euro) with your Dutch bank account directly.
However, although the payment succeeded, and the amount was debited from my bank account, my credit in Purelymail stayed at $0.00.
I have no idea where it went wrong, but for now it's probably best to completely disable iDeal payments.
The credit shows $10 now since I tried the PayPal button as well, which did work.
(I've sent an e-mail to support about this, asking for either credits or a refund for the failed transaction).
Update: a few hours later I got an email from PayPal stating the payment to Add Rabbit LLC had failed, and the amount would be refunded within a few days.
So, at least you get your money back automatically when this bug happens 👍
(Got no reply yet from purelymail, but it's Saturday)
Hiya @wilcooo , sorry you didn't get a reply in time, we just recently changed to a new helpdesk system, which means we can be a bit more responsive.
We have had multiple users report issues using iDeal for payments, and to be able to add better integration for them would involve significantly modifying the backend. We generally advise all customers to use PayPal if possible, since the significant majority of payments for people using iDeal fails.
