IOPaint Results are different when painting directly vs uploading a mask

If I upload an image and paint in the app i get this result:

result after using the brush in app:

If I download the mask (from the app) and apply it to the same original photo the result is worse:

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks for uploading images for debugging, it's really helpful!

The bug has already been fixed in 0.28.0, please upgrade to the newer version.

Yes that fixed the issue. I am using LaMa so from what I understand it's not fault of the SD. Is some pre-process or post-process done to mask or image when using LaMa?

Some post-process that should only be applied to the SD model affect the LaMa result
