Since last update it keeps on crashing.

Same here (I was just beginning to enjoy the excellent new Alt key feature...) Including the entry from my event log, so you won't have to translate the above Italian one

I have looked into the issue, and it seems to be caused by the keyboard hook (the code that checks for the alt key). I will see what I can do to fix it.
Well, looks like the keyboard hooking method used is fundamentally flawed, and people are also reporting issues with typing being delayed. I will try to release a fix ASAP.
The issue has been fixed and uploaded to the store, you can expect the update to roll out within 24 hours. Please get back to me when 3.0.6 releases and tell me if the issue still occurs.
