Run at startup not working on Windows 10
I have installed this fine app from Microsoft Store. I do not find any way to make it start with Windows, I mean I was not able to put this on StartUp. It would be a great add-on to have this app starts automatically with Windows.
Found a solution -
-
- Press Win + R, type shell:appsfolder, and hit Enter to open the Applications folder.
-
- Open another File Explorer window and type shell:startup in the address bar, then hit Enter.
-
- Drag and drop the app’s shortcut from the Applications folder to the Startup folder.
I've had many people contact me about this. TopNotify does support running at startup but it seems to be broken in the latest Windows 10 update. Windows 11 seems to be working fine. The problem is that startup apps in UWP are managed by the OS not the app so there's nothing I can do to fix it, Microsoft has to do that. Seeing as they are deprecating Windows 10 in October I doubt that they are putting much effort into that.
Microsoft could not deprecate Windows 7 yet, you are talking about Windows 10. I think people like you and me knows how lousy 11 is so far. I still see Windows 95 stuffs in Windows 11. You can access one setting through 3 or 4 places, and they call it efficient! 😂
Yeah I get it, that's why I installed Linux. However the issue still remains that Microsoft isn't prioritizing fixing issues like this, so I guess this workaround you posted is the best method for Windows 10 users.
I will pin this issue so other Windows 10 users can easily find the workaround you posted. Hopefully Microsoft fixes this issue.
