Manually add Groups

Open AdaRoseCannon opened this issue 4 years ago • 6 comments

Unfortunately DAS cannot automatically find all the devices on my network but they play fine individually if I manually add the IPs to the config which I have done.

I have 2 Chromecast Audio in a Group, both of which have been added but the group is not detected.

Is it possible to also manually define that these play as a group so that they stay in sync?

No, it's not possible to manually add groups.

Most of the time it's something in your network (router) that's blocking the discovery messages.

Thanks for the swift response, I just found it works over ethernet something in my router is preventing it on wifi.

On my router the setting is called UPnP. It can also be something like MDNS/multicast etc.

Thank you, it's enabled so not sure what else it would be. I think it's just my router being weird.

I don't know about your network setup. Maybe your desktop is connected to a different router/wifi/subnet as the Chromecasts are? (and ethernet is on the same subnet)

It's probably something like that, our router doesn't give control as fine grained as that annoyingly. I'll give up for now until I can get a better router.
