VirtualAlloc failed when hosting game via WINE and user joins.

Open jyetcv opened this issue 1 month ago • 2 comments

When I host the game with WINE with the Classic Patch enabled, and a player joins my server, the game will lock up and the a window with "VirtualAlloc failed" will appear. When I host the game with Proton, this issue does not occur. When I am not using the Classic Patch, players are able to join without me crashing. Tested on version 1.9.4.

It might be related to #31, which involves the SDL3 library, which is tied to the Extended Input plugin. Try removing the plugin and see whether it still works.

I cannot speak on anything related to Linux, Wine or Proton but my first assumption to why it works via Proton is because it's specifically designed for games, so it probably has a more proper support of the SDL libraries compiled for Windows.

I tried that before, but I only renamed it. I guess it was still loading anyway. I moved the plugin file to a completely separate directory and now it didn't crash.
