Find Volunteers Page requires Write Access to Fields Used in Filters

Open jesslopez-sf opened this issue 5 years ago • 3 comments

If a customer only has Read access to a field used in the Filters section of the Find Volunteers (VolunteersFind.page) page (for example, Volunteer Status), that filter is hidden. Since you have read access to the values, you should be able to use the search filter.

Steps to Repeat

  1. Create a new Profile, grant relevant permissions, but grant read only access to the Volunteer Status field on Contact.
  2. Create a new User and assign them to that profile.
  3. Log in as that User.
  4. Go to the Find Volunteers tab. The Volunteer Status menu is not displayed. In comparison, when you log in as a System Admin or have edit access, that filter is displayed.

Workaround: Grant write access to the fields but make them read only on page layouts.

I'm having this issue too...I gave read/edit access to Contact and read/edit access to all volunteer fields via permission set.

The fields still aren't showing up on the VF page.
