Huawei Users Only
I am using a P20 Pro, is here any other huawei users which can provide settings tips?
Also will there be future updates for kyirin users
Weel , im a Huawei user , and you can disable one of the graphical options for a tiny performance boost
Ugh, people, this is an ISSUE TRACKER, NOT Discord or something. Before asking for settings and bragging about ETAs and updates, consider if it belongs here. Also, because of various unknowledgeable youtubers, many people before you have come here with exactly the same questions and they have always been answered. It's not that hard to search around here. So for future reference:
Q: It does not work on my phone. A: Nobody will do anything about that. If you meet the requirements, try disabling hardware accelration features and it might work. Also, many phones have 64-bit CPUs and 32-bit OSs, so that's a problem.
Q: Wen eta futur update. A: No. This repo is mostly discontinued. The only place to look for changes is the official Citra repo. But please do not go there with similar non-issue issues asking the devs for release dates. They have a Discord, you can probably ask it there, but the answer will likely be "we do not know, why would we give ETAs, we never did so before".
Q: What settings should I use/what ROM formats does it support/known issue talk. A: All of this can be found out with a little bit of searching.
So, once again:
THIS IS NOT: • a tech support forum THIS IS: • an issue tracker
Many people seem to confuse this, but the issues aren't supposed to be issues about end-user problems (mostly, if not explicitly stated). These trackers exist for contributors and developers to gather info about CODE, not binary problems. The closest-to-end-user actual issue would be compilation problems for specific build systems on specific platforms.
I'll never stop being amazed how can a few third world country youtubers mobilize so many people who (90% probably) want to play pirated Pokémon... on their phones... in 2018/19... to plague a poor stale repo's issue tracker with tech support questions. In the end, I am really glad the development has moved to the official repo, because the hype has fortunately died down a bit and the issue tracker and forum there is pretty well moderated.
Really? There are people on this forum asking if the "switch emulator" on the Play Store is real, and the topic you complain about is this one? W̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶a̶ ̶j̶e̶r̶k̶
@kelvinnkat please be respectful , @HelloOO7 has been moderating this issue tracker far more dedicatedly than I have been. And he is right this is an issue tracker not a forum... I may have allowed some tech support-ish "issues" and that's because there isn't a support forum.
Jerk wasn't the right word to use, and I apologise for it. However, my point was that if all the things that don't belong here, this doesn't seem like the one that should be objected to, and it still stands. I appreciate all of the work you and @Hello007 have done, and also appreciate letting tech support into the issues section. If you're reading this far, I had a few questions for you. Did you "mostly abandon" this repo as some are saying? Is there a big commit coming? Are you still reviewing the .cia fork? If not, what did you reject it for? Are you working with the Citra team to make a more official version?
Well, this does not belong here because:
•Asking for tips belongs in a forum •Asking for updates does not even make sense AND belongs in a forum
I admit I was a little too harsh, but I have been following this repo for quite a while now and if you use the embedded search function and search "huawei" "eta" or "update", you will get all the answers you need. That's why, even though there's not an actual support forum (and let's be honest, end users aren't targeted just yet, so people using this emulator should not be in the need of any support), it gets kind of old stating all over again that:
• No ETAs • For most devices (even Snapdragon), hardware shaders have to be disabled with the hardware renderer as well on most non-SD devices. • This emulator only supports ARMv8 devices with a 64-bit OS. • Nothing that is not present in desktop Citra will magically appear in the Android port.
If people were thoughtful enough to search the issue tracker, they would find all the info above in many locations. But I guess it's hard to change that.
Yeah, you're right that there are some "issues" that should just be closed right away, but @SachinVin does not frequent this tracker very often and they are so laughable (like the fake Switch emulator one) that I don't even bother replying to them. With issues like this one (163), I usually repeat what's widely known and add that if you can't help yourself with things like these, you probably shouldn't be using an experimental emulator.
Also, now that we are using this issue as a forum (I guess it can't be helped now), to answer your questions:
• This repo is indeed quite abandoned and @SachinVin has made some commits in the official Citra repo at citra-emu/citra, mainly rebased support for the OpenGL ES video core hack. • The CIA pull request is most possibly from some confused guy with questionable English, who was most possibly trying to say that he wants to be able to install CIA files. First of all, that's not impossible as it's already implemented on PC, but I don't think anyone's looking into that as of now, because you can dump a .3DS file quite easily (two clicks easier than CIA as a matter of fact) and even convert CIA to 3DS on PC if that's your thing. Though I do think it's not far from the truth if I say that the people asking for other than 3DS formats support are pirates with slow connection who just downloaded a "legit pokemon rom no virus" and are disappointed that something they did not pay for does not work. • Yes, there is WIP on an official version, but I already said that.
