Different character
the other one doesn't fit
Do you have images of the character from every angle? I think it'd be nice if the angle of the character changed based on direction and view.
@Aeosgames I'll check it tomorrow gotta go to work
Hello, i'm the artist who made this 3d character If it suits the style i could screenshot the character from every angle
looks good @BlueBar0n
@BlueBar0n Looks awesome ! I really like the hoodie with MSFT logo and the 950 in his hand !
UI is on low priority for now, but when it's back in track, i think that would be a cool thing ! :)
When it's needed just let me know and i'll gladly do it
That character looks awesome! But will it work with team colors? Also it would probably need a walking animation...
@profdrmops i can make different textures for the teams, but as far as I know only on gyms characters have team colors.
Also no problem for walking animation.. it will just take me a bit more time to screen them in 2D
I actually think that maybe if we are going to go for a unique design we could make the character have their own customize-able outfit plus it might be better to get a female model too just for the sake of people prefer to look at different genders
Since the game will be in 2D the only logic thing is different textures for the character. And if they manage do get the app working again and use my character I'll definitely make a female version too
@BlueBar0n maybe 2D will be changed in 3D in a few months
i am trying to do that as we speak
You could create a color-mask image aside the player image with colorable pixels in greyscale. This mask image can be multplied with a specific color and then drawn over the player image. I'm doing the same for my game project, work flawless: https://youtu.be/xZRtzrkuDm0?t=23s
@BlueBar0n given character textures, do you think you'll be able to render the model (and the face) for each available combination? The server returns the avatar description, so we can just build all the possible images and then show the one that match user's settings.
@ST-Apps yeah, it will take some time but i think i could do it
@IceReaper you mean texture will be in grayscale and the game engine will draw a color over the masked area?
@BlueBar0n almost. But not fully grayscale, only the colorable team pixels. The mask image should contain those pixels only, others transparent. Work better on performance then a Black and White mask version and coloring the original image. At last thats what i found out. Also you could use a nice blend mode, makes sure Black and White isnt always full black or white. The seperate mask also allows to have fixed colored parts without Space Magic team color pixel detection. :D
Can you change The sweatshirt to be the Microsoft logo (not windows) and when you select a team the tile of that color in the logo becomes it's tile
That´s perfect to make an animated player sprite.
What about the walking sprite from early generations instead of the static one that shows his back?
