KODI verification stuck at authorization

Hi,

After approving the PIN, the SIMKL KODI addon doesn't do anything, it's just stuck displaying the PIN code window.

Tested on:

  • KODI Linux
  • KODI Android

Both fresh installations (both KODI and SIMKL addon) since this is the first time I'm using KODI.

Other steps tried:

  • revoking access via https://simkl.com/settings/connected-apps/ and then tried to add it again.
  • restarting KODI
  • rebooting devices

hi, just tested on Kodi 20 Alpha + 20 Released. Both works fine. Could you enable logging and find there some lines with Errors + all lines with Simkl word. Are you sure it wasn't blocked by firewall?

Since you had Kodi connected in https://simkl.com/settings/connected-apps/ it means the connection was successful. If it's showing as connected on your Simkl account, try restarting Kodi. Hope that should do the trick in your case.

Update.

I'm not sure what's going on, but after switching to a different ISP, it worked.

  • Philippines ISP: Converge fiber Internet (wired)
    • VPN: failing for both Android and Linux.
    • No VPN: failing for both Android and Linux.
  • Philippines ISP: Smart mobile Internet (4G)
    • VPN: failing for both Android and Linux.
    • No VPN: worked for both Android and Linux.

Other details:

  • Only experienced in the KODI addon for SIMKL.
  • Similar addons with a similar process (PIN) like Trakt, works fine regardless of ISP used.
  • I can visit the SIMKL website and use the SIMKL Android app without problems, regardless of ISP.

As for scrobbling, it works fine even if I'm using Converge and with VPN. It's just the login process that is having difficulties.

In any case, I attached the requested log file.

Also, my current IP from Converge is 139.135.241.xxx. Their website is https://www.convergeict.com.

thanks for additional info. Looks like some config error, unfortunately we cannot reproduce it in any way.
