[Feature request] NJMotion

Open fofocho2049 opened this issue 1 month ago • 7 comments

Hello

I have licensed Simhub app and I think it is one of the best apps ever made. I love it with my dashboard and bass shakers

Recently I have bought a motion platform from NJMotion and it uses Simtools, and app which I find very poor in comparison (it has many presets and adjustments for the axis but no effect tuning at all)

Will you include NJMotion in the list of controllers?

Thanks

Hi NJMotion is a basic serial interface if I'm not wrong.

yoiu can add it this way and copy the settings from Simtools. https://manual.simhubdash.com/motion-addon/supported-controllers/generic-serial-controller

If you get everything working I would be interested to get the exact model you are using (there are various NJ motion) and a setting export so I can inspect it and maybe make it work out of the box :

Hello,

With the generic controller I did not get any movement in the axis test. However using SMC3 Controller it worked, both axis, but:

  • When testing sway, it did not go left and right but kind of diagonal: bottom-(slightly)left to top-(slightly)right
  • Same testing Surge, more that forward/backward it was: (slightly)left-backward to (slightly)right-forward

The in game, with all effects/axis at 100%, the movements were very very subtle, nothinh to do with the movements I get using Simtool

Thanks anyway

PS: model is Compact EVO

Cheers Carlos

Hi ! From the few I know SMC3 is not compliant, if it moves it means the controller is not checking correctly the data format. But don't expect anything correct out of SMC3. Would you have the simtools serial settings ?

Maybe you have the manual explaining how to configure it in simtools ? Unfortunately njmotion website does display any information download or manual

Hello,

I changed the actuators size from 150mm to 50mm and now I get more movements. The remaining issue I have now is that effects are slow. For example braking moves me forward, but keeps me forward after releasing the brake. All this with SMC3

The settings in Simtools are quite basic:
