[Feature request] DCS haptic on cockpit button pushes
Thanks for the DCS support! I play DCS in VR and have been wondering about using hand tracking to push buttons in the cockpit. It works but is awkward. I was thinking that a haptic from my ButtKicker, which I drive with SimHub, might reduce that awkwardness.
I don't know if this is feasible from the data DCS exports. Doing my own digging through their API docs, I didn't see anything that looked like an event which would fire specifically because a button was pushed. The events which are available are more like things that happen because a button was pushed, like releasing a weapon. But I was imaging a haptic happening on ANY button being pushed, for example, inputting a radio frequency into a number pad.
One alternative I considered was using the Moza AB9 FFB base to provide the haptic, but I would guess that it too would be dependent on whether a button push event can be exported from DCS.
I don't know that having a haptic would reduce the awkwardness of DCS's hand tracking implementation, but I would love to experiment with it. And I'm hopeful that if the necessary data can be exported from DCS that adding a haptic to SimHub might be trivial.
