[Feature request] MSFS 2024 Missing Telemetry Features
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Ex. I'm always frustrated when [...]
I'm running the latest Beta of MSFS 2024 - so this already could be out of standard. Running NLR HF8
- Helicopters
It used to be that when you landed your helicopter, you felt a thud in your seat. That has gone missing for some reason. I checked the "touchdown" telemetry while running the game, and nothing is there. It does work for airplanes though. I vaguely remember some kind of landing gear detection feature in Simhub for the MSFS 2024 profile, but it is completely gone for some reason.
CORRECTION The effect is still there - it's just not 100% reliable. It may have something to do with helicopter angle and / or the speed it is landing.
- Airplane Landing Gear Deployment / Retraction
I may be mistaken, but I remember there used to be haptics for when landing gear are put down and retracted on an airplane (I'm not talking about touchdown). That isn't in the feature list for MSFS 2024 (was it before?)
Describe the solution you'd like A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.
Just fill in the missing haptics features (if indeed they are missing). Remember that I'm running the latest Beta of MSFS 2024 (SU1 I believe)
Describe alternatives you've considered A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.
There is the default HF8 software driver with an MSFS 2024 profile. It has its own problems, but this could be a good comparable for telemetry features.

Just following up. I wanted to report that in Simhub 9.8.0 landing gear going up and down are indeed being expressed in my haptics experience. For some reason, this is included as part of the "Road Vibration" element. I am nearly sure this functionality is new.
I am surprised that the landing gear is part of the road vibration telemetry and not something completely different. @SHWotever did you combine telemetry components to make this happen?
I have more testing to do, but the only remaining thing I could think of is to somehow separate the engine RPMs from being haptics mono for all engines and to include telemetry from them on an individual basis.
Going to test more planes / helicopters and will report back if anything is missing.
Hi ! Landing gear "mixing" is reported as suspension from day one actually. But since it's actually based on the suspension (GearAnimationPosition) compression the flight must have suspensions to catch those details. It's indeed both alive "on ground" and sometimes when extending. But I indeed wired it for "road surface" purpose. Extensions per se could have more "crafted" effects or rely on other data.
@SHWotever I think I understand. So maybe it was hidden and buried in other vibrations that I couldn't detect it + the labeling was different than I expected so that threw me off too.
As far as I can tell, everything is working. The only opportunity left for MSFS as far as I can tell is positionally separating the engine RPMs rather than a general mono output for everything.
