Accessibility modes
Apparently about 10 % of gamers have some kind of disability, so we should start to think about making the game accessible for them. AoE 2 was already very progressive in this regard, but the HD Edition so far does little to implement the "Lessons Learned" that were discovered in the 17 years after the initial release.
We are already addressing many of these issues with changeable font size and such, but there's so much more. Especially color blind mode is vital for distinguishing multiplayer factions.
