Windows cmd duplicates prompt

Open Borzenko opened this issue 6 years ago • 4 comments

node: v10.15.2 platform: Windows server 2012 R2 x64 inquirer: v5 and higher

I have script which requires inquirer and dotenv packages. I ran it with v5 and higher and prompts message on each keydown if input line bigger than cmd window width. It works correctly only for versions lower than 5.0.0

This issue is a year old and has not been adressed yet. I'm experiencing the same bug. I'm so glad that there are people that spend their free time with maintaining such open source projects, and I really appreciate that this even exists; therefore I won't cry here. But it seems like a lot of people are having the same problem and its repeating itself, with a lot of new issues being created on other libraries pushing off the fault to you. Normally, I as a user would move to a different prompt solution and not pressurize the poor devs behind it, but in this case its because of third-party libraries we can't change. I'd be very happy to see anything moving forward.

Happy to get some help from developers using windows. Many bugs are in the Node core for their readline implementation. Bumping to newer Node version can help.

I'd love to help, but I'm not using Craposoft windows anymore! :) GNU/Linux is soo much better for development.
