Overlapping the `sap.tnt.SideNavigation` sidebar in mobile mode

Open pubmikeb opened this issue 3 years ago • 7 comments

OpenUI5 version: 1.98.0

Currently, when expanding sap.tnt.SideNavigation in the mobile mode the sidebar shifts the view content aside:

While usually the sidebar menu overlaps the content, at least that's how it does work in any mobile app.

Is there any property, which can specify the way the sidebar behaves (shifts/overlaps) in the mobile mode? If there is no such property yet, then it would be great to add such one.

Hi @pubmikeb,

We have a bigger visual design and behavior specification update (that covers also your issue). Such refactoring is planned and according to priority would be implemented in due month(s).

Hi @olannyv,

thanks a lot for the update! It sounds promising, so we're waiting for the further info, roadmap and previews.

BTW, if we're talking about bigger visual design and behavior specification update, is there any chance that the updated specification will include the hiding of navigation side bar upon the click on any place outside of the side bar? Such behavior is especially important for the proper UX on mobile, where it is more convenient to hide a sidebar by clicking on any empty space rather then just targeting the proper "hamburger"-button.

This issue will be covered in backlog item BGSOFUIRODOPI-2703.
