How are you even attempting to run this? EV Nova is a 32bit Intel application, and Catalina dropped support for 32bit apps. Mojave is the last version that will run EV Nova. No Apple Silicon macs run anything older than Big Sur, so I fully believe that this won't ever work for you.

Maybe try Endless Sky or NAEV or even Starsector instead?
