Adding new pages of content that aren't in the index - but still have next page and prev page

Is it possible to add new pages of content to an ebook that are not in the index or any toctree from the index? I would like to add experiments that are on several pages and still have the next and previous page buttons work. I see that I can add content that isn't in the index or any toctree and get to it directly with the URL. See https://runestone.academy/runestone/books/published/py4e-int/exp1/pre1.html but the next page button does not work.

Not as far as I know. "orphan" pages do not get previous/next

Maybe there is some feature of Sphinx or docutils that would allow this. But I'm not aware of it. @bjones1 any thoughts on this one?
