1.10 section cannot be marked completed
Error reported in course SBCSA2020B5 on page Exercises by user fmorrison [email protected] After finishing all of the exercises in section 1.10 of the course and moving on to Chapter 2.0, when I look at the overall course progress, everything in Chapter 1 is marked with a green checkmark EXCEPT section 1.10. I've completed the exercises twice and neither time has it been marked completed, so I consider this to be a bug.
@bhoffman0 I wonder if this page should be in a file other than Exercises.rst -- we could add a blank Exercises.rst to make the custom question editor happy. I think this page gets a lot of problem reports. And since it is just all multiple choice maybe it is reasonable to include in a reading assignment and expect that students will answer them all???
I could move it to a different page, but will that mess up current assignments? What would happen to the current crowd-sourced questions attached there? I didn't really like the blank exercises page which is why I put those there.
I don't see any crowd sourced questions on that page. ??
Assignments would not be effected because assignments only use the div_id of the question. sub_chapter does not matter.
Not on the page, but when you're making assignments, under problems. That's where a lot of the crowd-sources ones live now. But I guess they'd just stay with a blank Exercises.html and I'd move the book problems to multiple-choice-exercises.html or something like that.
I was going to make the blank Exercises.html but then they're just going to complain about no check mark on that one too, and I really don't like having a blank page. Maybe I'll try it in 1 chapter to see what it looks like first and see if it messes up any reading assignments.
I put this in the Exercises.rst file
:skipreading:True
Then they Cannot be included in the reading.
Maybe we can figure out some kind of message to put at the bottom of the Exercises pages that says something like "Many people do only some of the Problems on this page, the Mark Complete button has been intentionally not included"
I think the issue is really related to the page being included in a reading assignment and the students not getting the feedback that they have done enough to get credit for the page.

Ok I'll add this to the end of the Exercises pages: "The Mark Complete button and green check mark are intentionally not included for this page because there may be many quiz-bank exercises on this page."
But why not include the Mark Complete on the Exercises pages anyway? People could mark complete when they're done with however much they want or need to do, even if they haven't done everything on a page.
