Doesn't look like this API is being actively developed at the moment and big warning says dont use it https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/File_System_API

I would suggest this isn't a priority for the minute then - we can hold off, but keep it as an issue and I'll keep an eye on the API.
