Usefulness of members in Clan War

Open SumLord opened this issue 6 years ago • 12 comments

Hi, firstly I want to tell you, that I love your site and that it helps me a lot in managing my Clan. But still, even after adding new Clan / War / Analytics feature, it does not provide me quick information about overall usefulness of members in Clan Wars. I would be happy if you can add one more column to War Analytics table, that would show me the usefulness. I am counting it myself in spreadsheet, I use sorted value to kick useless members https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19sSq6lOqFJtuHShQaO6tIdJ_nz_QPIWrt90AgxBzDbA/edit?usp=sharing I use 10 to 5 points for Final Battle victory, 1 point for participation in Collection Day but Final Battle loss, -2 points for not participating at all, -10 to -5 points for not playing the Final Battle. Thanks a lot and have a nice day Sumlord Leader of Trolling Foe CZ https://royaleapi.com/clan/9U0C2G88

This will differ from clan to clan. We kick members that do not play the final battle, but say it's ok to not play at all.

Well, at least it will be very helpful, if the War Day (Last 10 Wars) table shows that the member was not participating. So instead of leaving blank space show some nonparticipating badge. Because sometimes members come to our clan and do not participate in any war, then it is not clear from the table, if they are new in clan or just not participating.

That's true 👍

There is no fields in our feed which shows number of battles someone has played during collection day, nor the number of wins they have gotten. The only thing we are able to fetch is the number of cards earned. Thus, while this is useful, it is not possible for us to implement at this time.

Trust that we will implement this when we are able. For now, if you use the API (not the website), you can “hack” this by tracking battle logs from your members, which is something I am doing for my family. However, it won’t really be possible to do this for every single clan (certainly won’t be something that you can back track)

Re: Usefulness

as others have mentioned, a number that determines this will depend on the clan. We will work with it in the future if we can see further info.

@SumLord can you reply to this issue regarding my reply above, and let me know if there is any remaining tasks / features that I have missed. I'll close this issue if I don't hear from you for another 3 days because I can't see any actionable options for me.

Are you able to add to the War Day (Last 10 Wars) table more columns, which will help with sorting the table? For example column with count of unplayed final battles or column with count of won battles? For now the count column only shows count of all battles regardless of battle result.

SumLord avatar Jun 06 '18 10:06 SumLord

Sure I can do that. Added to https://github.com/RoyaleAPI/cr-api-ux/issues/134

@SumLord Unplayed final battles implemented. See https://royaleapi.com/clan/LQGPLJ8/war/analytics

Thanks for that. I still think that some basic usefullness index will be helpful. It does not matter that each clan will have different rules, you can leave points for won/lost/unplayed battles for edit and set default values to (for xample): won=5, lost=1, unplayed=-10. It will help a lot in sorting the table.

Different clans will have different rules. it might over complicate the UI if it’s present for all clans. We will think about it — maybe only show it for desktop as it’d be too crowdy on mobile.

You can change this index for count column, because I cannot imagine usage of count value in any clan (who cares that a member won + lost + unplayed + didnotplayatall 10 times, it actually just tells you for how long a meber has been in clan).

SumLord avatar Jun 15 '18 08:06 SumLord

You don’t care? We do. We used those information to decide whether to kick people. You see, every clan is different and I would rather present objective data instead of subjective rules. If you wish to see subjective values, you might be better off using our API and build your own custom app?
