Display and dock a minimap at the right of the editor, which can also be a component for fast scrolling.

I think it's not so suitable for mobile devices due to limited screen size.

I think if the viewport size is really small for some devices, then the minimap can be effectively smaller by density, or be contextual(e.g. long pressing scrollbar thumb to display the minimap) instead of permanent.

This feature is especially useful and viable when in landscape view.
