New vulnerability just dropped
As per the title, here the link with PoC and here LG's advisory to upgrade. I'm from the phone and haven't read much, would it be possible to use it for newer firmware versions? 👀

The root privilege escalation part is just faultmanager.
There is a new private Luna bus access method, but it's almost certainly been patched on current firmware, as LG has known about it for months.
This is academically interesting but I don't think it's a candidate for a rootmytv exploit. The initial stage only applies if you already have an ssg app authenticated (and a user-consenting exploit can just ask the user for that nicely)
The get_root.sh script is the interesting part (looks like an LPE but isn't immediately obvious how it works), but as @throwaway96 says it's likely already patched at this point.
