i've created this issue becase @jeanfbrito said, that this is not fixed in fedora and i got no other feedback in #2992
Are you willing to submit a code contribution?
- [ ] Yes, I am willing to submit a Pull Request!
@jeanfbrito is there something i can provide to help fix this?
currently the situation is unchanged, rocket.chat.electron 4.9.0, rocket chat server: 7.9.3.
currently it is as follows:
- the jitsi window opens
- my desktop environment (gnome) directly asks for a screen to share (event though i have not selected to share my screen)
- i select a window or screen to share (or just close the dialog, does not matter)
- i click the "share screen" button in jitsi
- the dialog to choose a window or desktop from my desktop environment shows again
- i select a window or screen
- the jitsi dialog to select a screen or window does not show any windows/ desktops to share
- the desktop dialog shows up every few seconds to select a window
its like a "deadlock", it asks again and again but jitsi never sees the windows.
please let me know if i can help with this :) or should test something-
thank you
Don't @ people please.
It gets annoying and you can get muted/ignored.
Let maintainers decide labels as well.
You should also always test on latest versions eg now 7.10.x or 7.11.rc
Have you read this?

What Jitsi version are you using? They make regular changes which can break things.
Is it your own Jitsi server or theirs?
i tested again with these versions:
jitsi, self hosted (works in the browser): 2.3.260
rocket chat server 7.12.2 rocket chat electron: 4.10.0
the behavior is still the same.
