What happened?

Provide Detailed Information:

  • jitsi-meet - 2.0.9955-1
  • jitsi-videobridge2 - 2.3-198-g5ff19598-1
  • jicofo - 1.0-1118-1
  • Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS
  • Kernel: Linux 5.15.0-131-generic
  • Apps.Jitsi 2.1.0

Description of the Issue: Make sure that you do not have the Jitsi app installed before trying. when using Jitsi integrated to another service (in our case, Rocket.Chat) we are unable to exit out of the meeting when welcome screen is disabled. Reproduction Steps:

  1. Make sure you have rocket.chat app installed
  2. Make sure that jitsi app is uninstalled.
  3. Go to your jitsi-meet config, use this setting welcomePage: { disabled: true, },
  4. open up Rocket.Chat configured with Jitsi
  5. Start a jitsi call
  6. Try to exit out of the jitsi meeting without killing the app. (most notably on phones IOS & Android)

Expected Behavior: When exiting the call I don't want to be stuck on a black screen until i kill the app. would prefer to be redirected to rocket.chat.
Actual Behavior: I got stuck in the call and wasn't able to go back to rocket.chat without killing the app (both ios, android and some browser setups)

Workarounds for the problem:

  1. Installing Jitsi mobile app together with Rocket.Chat mobile app.
  2. Making sure that Welcome screen is enabled, and you set a customUrl to redirect to, in this example we did so with the rocket.chat URL.
