Does snapdrop have any limitation on usage?

Open lurchot opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Everyday when I use snapdrop first time it gives me very good connection and transfer, but after several times or sending/receiving multiple files, say tens/hundreds, the connection becomes unstable or even difficult, and finally I had to give up and wait for the next coming day, any limitation on usage?

Another issue: on iOS and Windows platforms, after the photos seding out from iOS device the Exif data will be lost, is there any reason for?

@lurchot I read that they are hosting Snapdrop on the AWS Cloud. I don't know if they need to limit traffic. If you host it yourself, you'll have control over that. I hosted it on my own server (https://snapdrop.k26.ch) and haven't experienced any problems...

@lurchot There's no restriction on Snapdrop.

@lurchot, @hello-smile6 , @Nicicalu There is no limitation on Transfer, but, the is a limitation of how much clients can connect to the server. Cause All Instances in Each device creates a new KeelAlive, connection with the serve.

Servers are busy lately. Prejeto is getting better known and the servers are not taking it.

MAYBE it is what happened with you.
