Glad you found a solution. I'd like to do a redux of the library soon and modernize it. I'll keep this issue in mind in regards to developer expectations.

It should be resolved now in the latest build

VirtualizedLists should never be nested inside plain ScrollViews with the same orientation because it can break windowing and other functionality - use another VirtualizedList-backed container instead.
