Indicate license in source code
On the AMO page the extension is listed as being distributed under the MIT/X11 License but I can't find any reference to that (or any other license) when looking in the repository. Could you please confirm the license information on AMO and preferably state the license clearly in the code?
Out of curiousity, why are you interested in the license? I am somewhat surprised that people (not just you, and not only this project) put in the efforts to look up the license of add-ons and open an issue if there is a discrepancy.
I use MIT/X11 as the default license for my open-source projects. Lately I have started using MPL2.0 for new add-ons (for no particular reason), but this one is still MIT/X11.
Cause supporters of free/libre software would like to pay attention to whether a software is clearly licensed. If not that means it may be non-free licensed in the future, which makes it effectively equal to a non-free software. I may still want to use the software, but only when I could sure it does clearly and legally free licensed.
Not only authors of proprietary software need copyright law to guarantee their own rights, for profit, users of free software need copyright law too - but it differently aims to guarantee everyone who won't violate others' freedom rights for the software their freedom rights. That's why the supporters would care about legal validity of software license so much.
Btw I have saw some extensions licensed weirdly, some of them declare GNU GPL on AMO but MIT/BSD etc. instead in repo, others just on the contrary, declare "All Rights Reserved" on AMO but free licensed in repo. It's so confusing and unexpected, makes people so concerns about it.
If no license is stated, someone has to assume that the source code in the repository is proprietory and may not even be used for some circumstances. E.g if a company uses this, that they might get charged afterwards.
Good indication of copyright and licenses, also allow automated clearing of license compatibility and more. A modern and easy way to do this is https://reuse.software/, they have a tool to help you do it quickly and standardized.
