Most instagram accounts cannot be ripped.

As well as "Error: null" under the URL bar.

please try this binary, if it still hapens: https://github.com/ripmeapp2/ripme/actions

please try this binary, if it still hapens: https://github.com/ripmeapp2/ripme/actions

The latest binary seems to have been canceled : https://github.com/ripmeapp2/ripme/actions/runs/560245221

So I tried with the second most recent binary : https://github.com/ripmeapp2/ripme/actions/runs/523129601 And it didn't work : "No images found at https://www.instagram.com/larolon"

However with that older one : https://github.com/ripmeapp2/ripme/actions/runs/523129601 The first time I launched it, it worked somewhat (downloaded 26 files out of ~40) ; the the second time it didn't work at all ("null").

@AmoraMasFina strange that one time it works, one time not. also that the 2 would be different is strange. there is no code difference, one is built with maven, the other with gradle. do you have more information, a log, or how you start it, which java version.

@soloturn do you have more information, a log, or how you start it, which java version.

I didn't keep the log, but could try to reproduce the bug.

The ripping process is through clipboard URL detection. As I launch Ripme, the downloading starts immediately (or at least tries to).

My Java version is apparently : Version 8, Update 241, Build 1.8.0_241-b07.

@AmoraMasFina can you try again please, please use newest version (green build): https://github.com/ripmeapp2/ripme/actions

soloturn avatar Feb 24 '21 23:02 soloturn

@soloturn I can confirm that the newest versions do not fix the issue, I am still having problems with Instagram ripping.

It downloads 21 or so images, then it says "no images found". After that, running it each time, it always says "no images found".

edit: Yeah, it downloaded exactly 21 images, just like someone reported in another issue IIRC.

which version did you use, which operating system, and which link, @ipkpjersi ? i tried the link in #1847 on linux and it works.

soloturn avatar Mar 22 '21 21:03 soloturn

I am on Ubuntu 18.04. I have tried the same link in #1847 and it only downloads 45:

However, it looks like there is 336 total posts it should download, not 45:

Is it possible Instagram now requires some kind of authentication to download beyond X number of images?

I have tried with ripme-1.7.94-12-d98d7533.jar and it had this issue.

I then tried ripme-1.7.94-12-9e0b6213.jar after clearing history, and it didn't download any:

I then cleared the history again, and tried the same link with ripme-1.7.94-12-d98d7533.jar and now we are back full circle to Error: null on Instagram rip, as is the title of this issue:

Hopefully this helps and is detailed enough.

I have the exact same issue on mac OS, also with the most recent green build. I just get null.

@soloturn This doesn't just happen for private accounts, as you can see here: https://github.com/RipMeApp/ripme/issues/1835#issuecomment-804460698 it happens for public accounts too

Happens on 1.7.95 as well IIRC especially since 1.7.94 vs 1.7.95 didn't have any commits addressing it I don't think.
