Type of Dump (Retail Game, Vitamin, MaiDump) [Specify maiDump load mode and Vitamin version]
-
If the game supports hardware acceleration
-
Game resolution
NOTE: Reports MUST refer to tests run WITHOUT audio streaming enabled and with Asynchronous streaming. Other plugins allocating memory in any possible way must not be run together with VITA2PC (eg. Better Amphetamine due to polling thread creation).
If you experience a game crash, try to run this plugin instead of the original one: VITA2PC_lowmem.zip. If it solved the issue, let me know in the report
Little Big Planet PCSF00021 Crashes Retail/Cartridge No hardware acceleration Downscaled - 480x272
Uncharted: Golden Abyss PSCF00001 Crashes when loading menu/ -shows amulet in the corner of the screen then crashes Retail/Cartridge No hardware acceleration?/ -couldn't open menu because of lack of time Downscaled - 480x272
Wipeout: 2048 PCSF0007 Crashes when loading menu/ -starts loading and crashes before menu/ -able to load the streamer and stream for a few seconds before crashing/ -if the stream isn't started with the plugin still enabled it crashes after the splashscreen. Retail/Cartridge No hardware acceleration Downscaled - 480x272
Call of Duty Blackops: Declassified PCSB00213 Kinda works/ -stuttering ingame/ -freezes more when audio is disabled or frameskip set higher than 1/ -jerky camera movement Retail/Cartridge No hardware acceleration Downscaled - 480x272
Surprisingly, I think it maybe a problem with how audio was implemented. Earlier releases of RinCheatStreamer I was able to play some of these games with crashes albeit a bit slow or unplayable; either that or the current version has problems playing Retail/cartridge games because I have tested homebrew like vitashell and Retroarch, they seemed to stream just fine.
So, first of all, tests must be run with async streaming (so frameskip is not relevant). Audio can be disabled from config menu, once disabled, it's like if audio code doesn't exist at all on both PC and VITA sides.
Wipeout 2048 is supported, has been tested by @gnmmarechal in a private build. Stream must be ideally started at main menu, several games will crash or freeze if the stream is started too early due to huge loading on game boots. It could be related to this.
For the stuttering stuffs, tests must be run without audio. Compatibility list refer to tests un without audio since such feature is highly experimental. (I should have mentioned this on the issue description probably, going to add it).
For the crashes, specify if the crash happens on splashboot logo or after it (so during a black screen). This could help identify a possible title related patch.
All of them after their boot sequence/splash screen.
I've added a modded version on first issue post that uses a limited mempool. (Several crashing games got fixed with this). Let me know if it solves issues with some of your games :)
Uncharted Golden Abyss PCSB00001 OkieDoke, With the low memory version I get spammed with c1-xxxx-xxx errors though the game continues to work regardless and its working great with audio streaming and with the downscaler. The errors seemed to stop once I was in game. 20-ish fps steaming, pretty good.
That's kinda interesting about the errors, are they random in the XXXX or is always the same error being spammed?
Same error, (C2-12828-1)
An idea, perhabs its possible for you to implement a low memory mode. For example, hold the R button while loading a game.
According to Internet, it seems to be related to savedata corruption. I suggest to start the stream after game loading to not get something strange to happen.
Related to Uncharted, does it support hw accel?
I get the error regardless whether I have started the stream or not. But the game continues to work in the background. Apparently It does not support hardware acceleration.
As mentioned before, after the spamming everything works fine including streaming.
17-18fps in game with the downscaler.
Tested another game, little big planet (PSCF00021) same error as uncharted but fails to boot into the game with the plugin enabled (low memory version).
Black ops also got the same error, though Wipeout: 2048 didn't.
Wipeout worked flawelessly. Supports hardware acceleration, with quality on low it streams at 16-22 fps.
Spent the afternoon going through a memcard, here's what I got.
Puyo Puyo Tetris PCSG00224 Works, fairly laggy but playable. MaiDump No 960x544 downscaled
Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version PCSG00551 Crashes instantly on startup with error C2-12828-1. Same with lowmem plugin. MaiDump N/A N/A
Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines PCSF00536 Playable, with occasional stutter/black bars on the bottom of the screen. Retail download Yes 960x544 downscaled
Nidhogg PCSB00679 Works, with heavy stuttering/black bars around the bottom half of the screen. Not really playable. MaiDump Yes 960x544 downscaled
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number PCSB00511 Technically works, but realistically the delay/framerate make it difficult to play. Retail download No 960x544 downscaled
Dragon's Crown PCSB00408 Occasionally a little choppy, but otherwise fully playable. Retail download Yes 960x544 downscaled
Shovel Knight PCSB00743 Fully playable. Retail Download Yes 960x544 downscaled
Muramasa Rebirth PCSB00404 Crashes when stream starts with C2-12828-1. Works with lowmem plugin, and is fully playable save for some visual glitches in title. Retail download Yes 960x544 downscaled
Demon Gaze PCSB00460 Fully playable. Cartridge Yes 960x544 downscaled
Deception IV: Blood Ties PCSB00499 Works, with decent lag and poor framerate. Cartridge No 960x544 downscaled
Toukiden: Kiwami PCSB00574 Fully playable. Cartridge No 960x544 downscaled
Atelier Escha & Logy Plus PCSB00906 Fully playable. Though I've heard overclocking causes weird savedata corruption with this series. Vitamin No 960x544 downscaled
Heh, adrenaline sorta works. You have to open the adrenaline menu to use the vita2pc plugin and it streams well smooth. The problem it has is the screen scaling either adrenaline has a patch to work correctly with this plugin or vice versa.
UPDATE As long as your not using the original filter on the adrenaline menu, it scales correctly (Advanced AA) though the framerate dips from high 50's to mid 20's. https://twitter.com/Dam_Teenagers/status/905131038988480512

All 3 games are not playable (on PC, on vita constant 30fps) with downscaling disabled.
@spreggie and @TheRadziu : please use Fraps to get real framerate. If it stick around 20-24 is considered fully playable atm in the compatibility list. Lower values are considered playable but choppy.
@spreggie Try the lowmem version for PERSONA 4.

I'm using Action for that, I consider it to be just as reliable.~~Although I didn't notice you mentioning that we have to test stuff without audio enabled and with overclock plugins disabled. Oclock vita has to be disabled as a plugin or it is enough just not to change clocks at all after game is started? Anyway I'll redo the tests and edit my previous message if anything changes.~~ Same results with oclock commented out in config and disabled audio
Just checked SK:EV since its listed as the game with HW acceleration, It can be streamed in full resolution and audio with 25-28fps and its almost perfect, can all games be forced to use HW acceleration or is this at least planned to implement?
HW Acceleration is related to how much VRAM game uses. If it doesn't have enough free VRAM, it's simply impossible to have it.
@TheSacredPixel do your reports have been made with audio streaming disabled? It's kinda strange to have stuttering with an hw accelerated title.
@Rinnegatamante I tried again just now, it isn't so much stuttering as, I guess, screen tearing or something. Parts of the image lag behind but the overall screen moves fine. I guess I might've had audio on for the first couple games I tried.
