Using CHMM2 v2.8 (tried both CIA and 3dsx version. Both result in same error as above. Tried a Themes folder in root of SD and in /3ds/CHMM2/Themes.

No invalid ascii characters (i even deleted the name and re-entered to be sure. Deleted theme and home menu data from extdata and re-generated it. Issue persists. Any ideas?

Have you tried using extracted themes? (Themes/Evee/files_in_the_zip, etc)

I didn't know that was possible. I'll give it a shot and report back. Thanks!

I'm at this error too. How do we fix it? Do we just erase CHMM and reinstall it?

As specified before:

  1. Be sure the zip archive doesn't contain non-ASCII characters (ex: è, é, ò, ù)
  2. If you're trying to use the Theme Downloader, it is broken, so that's the issue.
  3. If both of these are ok, try to extract the theme and put the folder in Themes (so Themes/My Theme/files_here.

Thank you for replying!

I deleted the theme I didn't realize got downloaded through the Theme Downloader (https://3dsthem.es/3146) even though it didn't look like it had invalid characters, and it fixed the issue!
