Page up / down controls broken in playlist view

Open 31j opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open a playlist of your chosing that has enough songs to require another page
  • use keyboard command to move up and down, doesn't work
  • sanity check: open another page that has pages and try the same thing, it works

System Information: Fedora 32 lxqt Kernel: 5.8.10-200.fc32.x86_64 Terminal: qterminal spt version: 0.21.0 Spotify 'daemons' / 'devices' being accesed : spotifyd on this host, Android 10 w official client, iPadOS 14 with official client

Nonetheless I'm really enjoying the client! It's a lot nicer being able to run the spt client when I chose, close it, and still have my music running with spotifyd in the background. It's basically like minimizing spotify to tray on Windows but without the terrible RAM usage :)

If you need any other information just ask.

Edit: I do realise this issue happened in the past, assumedly something has changed since then considering the age of the old post and the fact it was closed

Edit2: It seems like the length of the playlist has to do with this? it seems like I'm able to scroll to the next page IF it's a complete page, as most of my playlists are not that long I did not think of this being part of the issue. I just tried a playlist with ~3.5 ish pages and I could get through the first 3 complete pages.

~Edit3: Changing the font from 12pt Source Code Pro regular to the default "Monospace" in qterminal also seems to fix the issue? I might have to try some different playlist sizes first. Using rxvt-unicode with source code pro while having broken spacing (I know I can fix that in Xresources) also didn't have the issue. I'm wondering if this is related to fonts in qterminal?~

Edit4: Added more songs to that playlist with the default mono font and it's the same issue as before. Changing fonts just changed how many songs can be displayed on a page :/

Considering this seems more complicated than what I'd like feel free to ask for more info i've missed.

I'm not sure if this is a related issue, but for me I am able to navigate my Playlists (multiple pages) fine with all the commands except for Skip to End of the Playlist (Ctrl + e), which results in the error; all other page navigation commands (Ctrl + d/u) work fine. This would seem to be a separate but related issue, so posting here.

I am also having this issue. The only workaround I have (not even a real workaround) is to navigate to the song I want on spotify on my phone and then choosing my spotifyd speaker. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a UI to begin with, but at least it gets the song I want playing through my PC.
