Whatsapp on phone crashes

I just ran the send text example and it crashes the whatsapp running on my phone with this message error sending message: sending message timed outexit status 1

Same here.
API gives the above error message
WhatsApp in the phone gets crashed.
Tried updating the client version, still the same.

It happened to me when I gave wrong JID.
