Missing glyphs when rendering PDF with pdf.js

On PDF files that are rendered inline with the pdf.js library, text is rendered with "missing glyph" boxes. An example is at https://risk-engineering.org/linear-regression-analysis/

Tested with Firefox 63 and Chromium 70, running on Linux (similar issue but with slightly different rendering of the missing glyph boxes).
